Lab Projects

Network engineering experiments and evaluations.

The following projects represent ongoing lab work across routing and switching, data centre fabric design, and network security. Each topology is built and tested in EVE-NG using virtual appliances from Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto and F5.

BGP & MPLS Core Lab

In Progress

EVE-NG labs exploring MPLS L3VPN topology design with iBGP/eBGP route reflectors, OSPF as the IGP, and LDP/RSVP-TE signalling. The experiment covers route reflector configuration, VRF separation, and traffic engineering path selection across multiple virtual nodes.

VXLAN/EVPN Data Centre Fabric

In Progress

Leaf-spine fabric labs using VXLAN with a BGP EVPN control plane on Cisco Nexus virtual appliances. The experiment explores symmetric IRB, ARP suppression, and multi-tenant VRF segmentation in an EVE-NG environment.

In Progress

Labs evaluating perimeter and internal segmentation using Palo Alto NGFW with App-ID/User-ID policy configuration, Fortinet FortiGate in an HA pair, and F5 BIG-IP for application delivery and SSL inspection. The experiment examines policy enforcement behaviour and failover scenarios.
